One Universe Bio - Hawkman is a Thanagarian Soldier who, in order to spare his world, searched the Eons of Space and Time for certain artifacts that would make Galactus spare his world. Upon hunting down the last artifact, on Earth, Katar Hol's ship was damaged when it got involved in a crossfire space battle between the Martians of Mars during their Civil War with each other. Crashing onto Earth, Katar adapted, and met one of the Martians who was also stranded because of the Civil War. Knowing Katar had failed his mission, he thought Thanagar was destroyed by Galactus and lost all hope of returning.
Unable to get back to Thangar and find out what had been the fate of his world and his people, Katar adapted to Earth with a martian who was also stranded from the Civil War on Mars. The two grew up together, and became friends. During WWII, the two heroes joined a group of other heroes and formed a team called The Invaders.
After WWII, Katar finally got a signal that there was life on Thanagar when the US and USSR started their Space Race during the Cold War. A scientist made a discovery with his telescope, believing to have found a new star. Finding out the coordinates of the new star, Katar knew it was actually Thanagar. Leaving his longtime friend, J'onn J'onnz, Katar returned to Thanagar to find that his wife served Galactus to spare it. Katar would not find out until his arrival of how Thanagar was still alive all these years. After there were no signs of his return to Thanagar, his wife made the decision to sacrifice herself into Galactus' servitude to act as his Herald in order to spare Thanagar. The two lovers were finally reunited after so many years apart.

Hawkman's debut in the One Universe RPG was his sole purpose of warning the heroes of Earth that the menace known as Galactus was coming to claim and devour their world. Having dealt with Galactus thousands of years ago on Thanagar, Hawkman joined forces with some of Earth's heroes to rally up teams to face off against the villain.
Season III -
played by trustyside-kick Upon his return to Thanagar, Hawkman finds himself and his wife, Shayera, in shackles as they are put on trial. The crime, is endangering Thanagar from Hawkman's actions on Earth. Scared and confused after seeing Galactus former Herald Lobo (although the Thanagarians do not know he no longer serves Galactus) heading towards Thanagar's Star System, the Thanagarian Government deduce that because Hawkman told the Earthlings to prepare for Galactus' coming, Galactus has sent his herald Lobo to Thanagar as revenge. Without listening to reason as to why the Czarnian may be heading for Thanagar, Katar and Shayera receive their punishment: banishment from Thanagar.
As they are escorted by two Thanagarian War ships on their own ship, a coup finally takes form as one of the Thanagarian Generals, Kel, and after destroying one of the opposing troops to the coup on the second Thanagarian War ship, Kel sets his sights on Katar and Shayera's ship and shoots it down as well. For weeks the couple drifts through space until Katar is finally able to repair the ship's emergency boosters to have them crash land on Earth.
Entering Earth's atmosphere, Katar and Shayera's ship is torn apart, Shayera falling out of the sky with one end of the ship, and Katar strapped down in his seat with the other. Katar's ship crashes on the dig-site of the Archaeologist Carter Hall, which ends the young man's life as well as Katar's. For days, the two dead bodies lay in a graveyard of Nth metal from the ship. In the process, as Katar's body goes under the process of reincarnation as all Thanagarians undergo through a Ritual, it mistakenly enters Carter Hall's body, and Katar breathes life once again.
Found unconscious after wandering the desert, Katar wakes up in a hotel bedroom with the love of Carter Hall: Shiera Saunders. After spending some time with her at breakfast and at the Museum in Cairo, Egypt something finally dawns onto Katar: he shares Carter Hall's past memories and even some of his feelings. Unsure of what to do, or how to find his wife, Katar hopes to reunite with his longtime friend J'onn J'onnz.
After locating J'onn in London, the Martian Manhunter is able to create psychic barriers around Carter Hall's feelings and memories (unable to remove them unless he places them within another mind). Katar then learns that unfortunately J'onn lacks the skill to locate his wife but tells Katar of another telepath who can help him. Professor Charles Xavier, with his machine Cerebro, is Katar's best bet J'onn says and so he gives Hawkman the address to Xavier's School for the Gifted in Westchester, New York.
Arriving at Professor X's school, Katar finds out that Shayera is in St. Anne's hospital in St. Roch, Louisiana and travels the long distance to seek her out. When he arrives at her hospital bedroom, there is a bit of discomfort with Shayera as she doesn't quite believe the man in the guise of Carter Hall to in fact be her life-long husband Katar Hol. Upon their reunion Krl Zanz, The Shadow Thief, attacks who was sent by Byth Kol after it became evident that while Katar's comm was destroyed during the crash land into Earth, Shayera's was not and there was the chance that at least she had survived.
After defeating the Shadow Thief, taking his ship Katar and Shayera fly back to Manhattan, New York. Before their return to Thanagar to stop Byth's overthrow of the Thanagarian Empire, Katar had to tell Shiera Saunders--fiancee of Carter Hall--the truth about him and her fiance's death.
